12:07 AM, 18th of Last Seed, 4E 201.

I don't know what's going on, but I think I've been caught up in the middle of something very big.

The earliest thing I can remember is sitting in a cart with three other guys, one had his mouth covered; they called him Ulfric.

We were about to be executed, executed! and I don't even know who I am, or why I'm here. Somebody tried to escape and he was killed immediately, there really was no sign of hope.

However, good fortune came in the most mysterious of ways; a dragon attacked the village I was in, Helgen I think they called it! The dragon was a gigantic beast that started burning and destroying the entire village. It was, I'm sure, the most terrifying experience of my life!

In my attempt to escape I was aided by Ralof, a member of the Stormcloaks and a guard - I don't remember his name - who worked for the imperial guard that attempted to tear my head from my body. In a fleeting moment I was presented with the opportunity to follow either men, but cautious to side with the group of soldiers who tried to murder me with no just trial or cause, I fled with Ralof.

I don't know what happened. I got caught up in the terror of the dragon attack, but the Imperials came out of nowhere and started attacking me. Anger and fear built up inside me and flames erupted from the sweaty palms of my hands. Before I knew it both Imperials were dead and Ralof began exploring their pockets and knapsacks. We shared the bounty and began to flee the keep, trying to avoid the dragon at all costs.

During our escape we came across several more Imperials, and without any possibility to try and reason, the soldiers mercilessly attacked Ralof, myself and several other Stormcloaks. Although I have my suspicions that the other Stormcloaks were the ones to initiate the attacks I witnessed, and reluctantly took part in. Each time allowing the anger and fear to flow through my body and out my palms.

Upon escaping the village of Helgen, Ralof led me to a place called Riverwood. A quaint little trade village, in which his sister resides. We explained what happened and in hope of avoiding persecution from the Imperial soldiers once more, Ralof's sister agreed to let us hide in her home. She gave me some much needed food and supplies, and borrowed me her key, in exchange for agreeing to go to a city called Whiterun to request soldiers to protect the village should the dragon attack from the South.

I agreed; it really was the least i could do, I owed my life to her brother and she's allowed me to hide out in her house, something which I'm going to take her up on until i figure what I'm doing in this region. On my way to Whiterun I came across a patrol of Imperials leading a Stormcloack soldier away. Accepting my loyalty to the only people seemingly willing to help, I attempted to free the Stormcloack man, however in the fray and being unable to control the force of flames from my hands I accidentally injured him and he attacked, thinking I was trying to kill him.

I need to learn to subdue this power inside me, I can already feel it growing stronger and it now takes at least half the energy when I lose control; hopefully this is something I can hone in as I progress throughout my adventures.

Finally I reached Whiterun and spoke to the person in charge, known as a Jarl. I explained all about Helgen and how Riverwood and possibly Whiterun were in danger of a dragon attack. He ordered troops to protect Riverwood and introduced me to his mage. His mage asked me to find a 'Dragonstone' so he can locate the birthing grounds of dragons and investigate where they're coming from. As I understand from what people are saying, dragons are only known as stuff of legend; their existence causing more panic than the prospect of any attack.

I've also been asked by the mage, known as Farengar, to deliver some Frost Salts to Arcadia, who I believe to be an alchemist. As I intend to visit the market in the morning I agreed to deliver the goods.

And this is where I am now; sitting by a warm fire at the inn, about to rent a room for the night and get some sleep. Tomorrow I will go to find this Dragonstone, but I must try and find out who I really am. Maybe the Mage College may provide some answers, as I seem to be able to spontaneously combust the air in front of my hands.
